Voter registration in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has reached 84,859 as of March 19, with 1,814 new applications recorded in a single day.
Lanao del Sur leads the registrations with 22,555 voters, followed by Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, and the Special Geographic Area.
Registration shows a nearly even gender split, with 42,455 male and 42,404 female applicants.
The first BARMM parliamentary elections are scheduled for September 14, pending President Marcos’s signature on the law approved by Congress.
Comelec Chairman George Garcia said the commission is preparing to implement the law and ensure smooth election preparations nationwide.
