A message sent through an airline’s chatbot triggered a bomb threat alert at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Sept. 17.
The message claimed that a bomb had been planted inside a terminal restroom.
The Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group (Avsegroup) immediately cordoned off the area and conducted a security sweep.
Three explosive-detection dogs were deployed to check the restroom, trash bins, and nearby arrival and departure areas.
Authorities later cleared the areas of explosives and are now tracking the source of the message.
