Thousands of residents received rice assistance as the national government’s Bawat Bayan Makikinabang Program was rolled out in Las Piñas, led by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and Metro Manila Council president and San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora.
The initiative underscored the partnership between the national and Las Piñas City governments in providing food assistance amid rising food costs.
Mayor April Aguilar and Vice Mayor Mel Aguilar thanked the First Lady and the national government for bringing the program to the city.
Local officials said the initiative aims to improve the welfare of Filipino families through timely social support and essential services.
The rice distribution forms part of the government’s continuing efforts to strengthen food security and ease the financial burden on households.
