At least 52 barangays in Albay were affected by thick ashfall after Mayon Volcano erupted on Saturday, according to the Office of Civil Defense.
Around 30,500 families were impacted, including 1,400 residents who were evacuated, as authorities distributed relief goods and face masks in affected areas.
PHIVOLCS maintained Alert Level 3 as it recorded lava flows, ashfall, volcanic earthquakes, and tremors, while aviation authorities imposed flight restrictions near the volcano.
The national government assured continued assistance, with the DSWD prepositioning over 300,000 food packs and releasing cash aid programs.
Security, evacuation, and clearing operations were also intensified by the PNP, DPWH, and Philippine Coast Guard to support affected communities.
