President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. hinted on Friday at possible new appointments to his Cabinet following the lapse of the one-year ban on appointing previous election candidates.
He said the government should tap the best talent available, including those who ran in the last election but were not elected.
Marcos suggested the public should not be surprised if more former candidates join his Cabinet, describing it as a natural progression to strengthen his team.
He emphasized that it would be a waste not to utilize qualified individuals from the previous elections.
The announcement follows last week’s Cabinet change, when former Sen. Francis Tolentino was appointed labor secretary, while Marcos also dismissed rumors about replacing Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla.
