TACLOBAN MAYOR, NBI PUSH STRONGER SAFETY, SECURITY MEASURES

Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez and newly assigned NBI Region 8 Director Jeremy Lotoc discussed tighter security measures during a meeting on Wednesday.

They raised concerns about unauthorized firearm access, particularly by minors, amid recent school shooting incidents.

Romualdez stressed the need to keep firearms away from people who are not legally allowed to possess them.

They also discussed stronger cybersecurity in government offices and closer coordination among law enforcement agencies.

Romualdez said better coordination is needed to address emerging security threats across Eastern Visayas.
