President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. visited Muntinlupa City for the pilot distribution of rice and government assistance under the “Bigas Para sa Masa” program, joined by Mayor Ruffy Biazon and Rep. Jaime Fresnedi.
During the event at the Muntinlupa Sports Center, the President distributed 10-kilo sacks of rice to 1,900 residents as part of efforts to support indigent and vulnerable sectors.
Under the Local Government Support Fund, qualified beneficiaries in the city will also receive rice assistance every two months.
Marcos likewise released P1.8 million in aid for the city’s nine barangays under the Socio-Civic Projects Fund, with part of the allocation set aside for educational scholarships.
Biazon expressed gratitude for the initiative, saying the programs help ease the burden of families amid inflation and reinforce efforts toward poverty reduction and sustainable development.
