The City of Manila recently held a meeting with pet shop owners from Arranque Market and city officials to strengthen animal welfare standards and ensure compliance with local and national regulations.
Veterinary experts provided consultations to promote responsible animal care and improved sanitation in pet shops.
This effort is part of the city’s wider plan to enhance cooperation between authorities and businesses for humane and health-conscious public markets.
In celebration of Tourism and Creative Industries Month, Manila also launched a photo walk and contest at Manila Zoo, encouraging photographers to capture the zoo’s wildlife and scenery.
The event will culminate with an awards ceremony on September 29, where selected photos will be exhibited at the Manila Zoo Gallery.
