LTFRB OPENS UNDAS SPECIAL PERMIT APPLICATIONS ON SEPT. 21

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will start accepting applications for special permits for public transportation during Undas on Sept. 21.

Applications will be accepted until Oct. 2, while the permits will be valid from Oct. 28 to Nov. 6 to ensure enough public transport for passengers.

Special permits allow public utility vehicles to operate beyond their authorized routes during the holiday rush.

Operators must submit required documents and meet conditions, including a 50-percent limit on authorized units and a maximum vehicle age of 14 years.

More than 800 passenger buses received special permits during last year’s Undas observance.
