President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced that the government will begin distributing fire trucks to local government units (LGUs) after completing the nationwide rollout of patient transport vehicles.
He said funding has been secured, procurement is underway, and the program will be implemented by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The initiative aims to ensure every province, city, and municipality has access to a fire truck, particularly areas with outdated or no firefighting equipment.
Marcos said the distribution will strengthen local emergency response capabilities and improve public services.
The announcement was made during the turnover of emergency vehicles in San Fernando, Pampanga.
