Sen. Imee Marcos said the House of Representatives’ voting on the impeachment case of Vice President Sara Duterte may be influenced by “three little letters,” referring to FLR and OMB.
She explained that FLR (for later release) is a budget mechanism that can delay or withhold funding for lawmakers’ district projects, potentially affecting their constituents’ support.
Marcos also cited the OMB or Office of the Ombudsman, warning that lawmakers could face legal cases depending on how they vote on the impeachment.
She said these pressures could place Visayas and Mindanao congressmen in a difficult position, though she urged them to vote based on conscience.
Despite expecting enough votes in the House to advance the case to the Senate, she noted that the Senate outcome remains uncertain and may be more divided.
