Five schools—De La Salle University, Ateneo de Manila University, University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, and Adamson University—are preparing for the historic first UAAP golf tournament, set to begin on May 11 at Tagaytay Midlands.
The event marks the league’s inaugural golf competition in Season 88, giving teams the chance to become the first-ever UAAP golf champions and etch their names into history.
The tournament will follow a 72-hole aggregate gross stroke play format across four rounds, testing players’ consistency, endurance, and mental toughness in challenging wind conditions.
Organized in partnership with Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc. (PGTI), the event is part of a multi-year program aimed at strengthening the sport’s development from grassroots to collegiate and professional levels.
UAAP officials and organizers expressed optimism that the competition will become a regular fixture, highlighting its significance in advancing Philippine golf and producing future world-class athletes.
