Manila 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua raised concerns over Vice President Sara Duterte’s financial records, citing Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) documents that he said suggest she is a billionaire.
He claimed the records show significant and frequent transactions that raise questions about the source of the funds and why they were not reflected in her Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALNs).
Chua questioned whether the money came from legitimate business activities, pointing to alleged inconsistencies with Securities and Exchange Commission records and the lack of supporting income levels.
He also said tax filings from the Bureau of Internal Revenue should be reviewed to determine if reported income matches the transactions, describing the issue as one of accountability and possible unexplained wealth rather than politics.
Meanwhile, Duterte’s legal counsel said the AMLC documents are not part of the impeachment complaints currently filed against the Vice President.
