Vice President Sara Duterte denied allegations that she, her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, and her brother Paolo Duterte received more than P2 billion in cash delivered by former police officer Rodulfo Gracioso Jr.
Gracioso claimed he delivered the money in suitcases on instructions from former House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco.
Duterte said she does not know Gracioso and has never received money from him, adding that her lawyers are awaiting his affidavit from the National Bureau of Investigation.
Malacañang, meanwhile, urged Duterte to answer the allegations with evidence and defended the Senate’s authority to conduct her impeachment trial.
The Senate is currently deliberating on the impeachment case filed against Duterte by the House of Representatives.
