Motorists may see another round of diesel price cuts next week, with industry estimates pointing to a rollback of P8 to P10 per liter, although geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have limited the expected decrease.
Gasoline prices, meanwhile, are projected to remain steady or increase by about P1 per liter due to recent movements in global oil benchmarks.
The estimates are based on early trading data from the Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS), which has been affected by supply concerns and heightened volatility in global markets.
The latest price outlook follows renewed tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, which have driven oil prices higher and reduced the scale of the potential diesel rollback.
If realized, it would mark the third straight diesel price reduction after several rounds of increases, even as government measures and discounts from oil firms continue to cushion fuel costs.
