Filipino lawyer Jessica Agra reached a career-high No. 159 in the International Padel Federation (FIP) world rankings after making it to the semifinals of a Bronze category event in Bali, Indonesia.
Agra and her Russian partner Alena Vasileva were defeated by the second seeds Ainize Santamaria Landa and Angelina Neizvestnaya, who later lost in the finals to the top-seeded Spanish pair.
Agra, a former top junior tennis player, expressed satisfaction with her progress and hopes to break into the top 150 by the end of the year.
She is currently one of three Asian players in the FIP top 200 and will next compete in the FIP Bronze Reap Phuket tournament in Thailand.
Padel, the sport she plays, combines elements of tennis and squash and is gaining popularity worldwide.
