Fast Retailing Co., Ltd., the parent company of UNIQLO, will donate JPY 30 million (approximately US$185,000) and 2,000 AIRism clothing items to support recovery efforts following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao on June 8.
The monetary assistance will be coursed through the SM Foundation and ABS-CBN Foundation to provide essential humanitarian aid based on the needs of affected communities.
Separately, UNIQLO Philippines has already distributed new AIRism products and pre-owned clothing through the RE.UNIQLO program to help more than 7,000 people affected by the disaster.
The earthquake caused widespread damage to homes and displaced thousands of residents in the southern Philippines.
Fast Retailing expressed hope for the swift recovery of affected communities and the early return of survivors to their normal lives.
