DDB: REHABILITATION, SERVICES KEY TO MEASURING DRUG WAR SUCCESS

Marikina City 1st District Rep. Marcy Teodoro said the government’s anti-illegal drugs program should be measured by the delivery of services and rehabilitation efforts.

Teodoro made the statement while sponsoring and defending the proposed P526.5-million budget of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) for 2027, which is about 12 percent lower than its 2026 allocation.

He said anti-drug efforts should go beyond enforcement and address prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery.

Teodoro stressed the need to ensure that families have access to treatment and that recovering individuals receive support when they return to their communities.

He also emphasized the importance of research and data in determining where treatment and prevention programs are needed and which interventions are effective.
