ASEAN SUMMIT PREPARATIONS REACH 95% COMPLETION

The government is 90 to 95 percent ready to host the ASEAN Summit from Nov. 15 to 17, with contingency plans and security arrangements still being finalized, Malacañang said.

Executive Secretary Ralph Recto inspected the preparations at the Philippine International Convention Center to ensure everything is on track.

More than 20 regional and international leaders are expected to attend the summit.

Meanwhile, ASEAN delegates visited the Marikina Shoe Museum, where local shoemakers showcased their craftsmanship through a live demonstration.

Mayor Marjorie Ann Teodoro welcomed the delegates and highlighted the city’s shoemaking heritage as the Shoe Capital of the Philippines.
