The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) recorded a 15-percent increase in profit to P10.59 billion in the first nine months of the year, up from P9.19 billion during the same period last year.
The agency’s revenues rose by 11 percent to P24.79 billion, outpacing the eight-percent increase in expenses to P12.08 billion due to improved revenue collection and spending controls.
Despite global supply chain disruptions and rising transport costs, Philippine cargo throughput increased by three percent to 239.91 million metric tons from January to September.
Domestic cargo traffic declined by two percent to 84.18 million metric tons, while foreign cargo traffic grew by six percent to 155.73 million metric tons.
The PPA is on track to deliver another record dividend to the government, following its record P5.33-billion remittance in 2025 under the Dividends Law.
