FOUR LAWYERS QUESTIONED OVER ALLEGED PLOT AGAINST RECTO

NBI Director Melvin Matibag said four lawyers from a major law firm in Ortigas, Pasig, will be summoned over the alleged “honeytrap” plot targeting Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.

Matibag said the lawyers allegedly helped prepare scripts for women recruited to implicate Recto in human trafficking and illegal drug use.

The NBI is set to issue subpoenas requiring the lawyers to appear on Aug. 14.

The alleged plot was uncovered after a talent manager known as “Ken” was arrested in a separate human trafficking operation and admitted plans involving former Cabinet official Jing Paras and Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste.

Matibag said the operation was allegedly intended to damage Recto’s reputation, with Leviste reportedly willing to finance it.
