VILLAR FAMILY FACES OMBUDSMAN GRAFT COMPLAINTS OVER PRIMEWATER DEALS

The Office of the Ombudsman filed criminal and administrative complaints against members of the Villar family over allegedly disadvantageous PrimeWater joint venture agreements with local water districts.

Senators Camille and Mark Villar, their brother Paolo, and their parents Manny and Cynthia Villar are among those facing preliminary investigations.

The complaints stem from alleged poor water services and other issues involving PrimeWater’s agreements with 75 local water districts from 2015 to 2022.

The Ombudsman also cited a Commission on Audit finding involving over P65.6 million in unpaid materials and supplies used by the water districts.

Manny Villar said the family respects the legal process and is confident it can defend itself against the allegations.
