Scottie Thompson captured his third Ramon Fernandez Finals MVP award after helping Barangay Ginebra win the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup championship.
Thompson admitted he was surprised by the recognition, saying he only wanted to help the team end its title drought and believed several teammates were also deserving.
He averaged 10.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.3 steals in the Finals, highlighted by a triple-double performance.
Thompson capped the championship-clinching Game 7 with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists.
He described the title as one of the most special of his career, especially after winning it in front of his children.
