Executive Secretary Ralph Recto represented President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at the 2026 General Assembly of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines in Pasay City.
He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to strengthening local governments and improving service delivery.
The assembly highlighted the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF), which received a historic PHP57.872 billion allocation under the 2026 budget.
The LGSF provides municipalities with funding for infrastructure, public services, and development projects, particularly benefiting smaller localities.
The LMP also shared policy recommendations on Local Government Code reforms to enhance local autonomy and coordination with the national government.
