President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. named People’s Television Network General Manager Lino Cayetano as the new Presidential Communications Office (PCO) secretary, replacing Dave Gomez, who was bypassed by the Commission on Appointments.
Cayetano, a former Taguig representative and mayor, will become the sixth PCO chief under the Marcos administration once the appointment is formalized.
Marcos also confirmed that Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Aguda had stepped down amid an investigation into alleged “ghost” internet connectivity projects.
The investigation involves reports of non-operational sites and substandard equipment and services under DICT projects.
Meanwhile, Marcos denied reports that Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon would return to the Department of Transportation.
