President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said his Christmas wish is to secure “a good budget” from Congress and to have more time with his family despite the demands of the presidency.
In a podcast with university student journalists on December 11, he described obtaining a favorable budget as simple in concept but difficult to achieve, and noted that the presidency leaves little room for rest or family time.
Marcos reflected on the simpler life his family once had in Ilocos Norte, saying he misses those days.
He emphasized his gratitude for the opportunity to serve, calling public service a privilege that allows him to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives.
When asked for advice on entering politics, Marcos stressed that the only right reason is to serve, acknowledging that it is a thankless but rewarding job.
