The National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) expressed concern over digital personality Setzu’s content featuring Boss Atan, who has Crouzon syndrome, which allegedly showed physical harm, public ridicule, and degrading portrayals.
The agency warned that such content could send harmful messages to young audiences, particularly when it involves sports like basketball.
The NCDA emphasized that sports should promote inspiration and sportsmanship rather than violence or humiliation. It reminded content creators that exploiting persons with disabilities for entertainment, pranks, or profit may violate Republic Act 9442, or the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons.
The agency stressed that persons with disabilities deserve respect, protection, and equal treatment, not online bullying or exploitation.
