Quezon City has committed more than P1.47 billion in livelihood assistance to small entrepreneurs, with women accounting for over 70 percent of beneficiaries.
Mayor Joy Belmonte highlighted the role of small businesses in strengthening the local economy and helping residents achieve financial independence during her State of the City Address.
Through its Small Business and Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office, the city provides capital assistance, business training, mentorship, registration support, and market access.
Under the Pangkabuhayang QC program, nearly 73,000 residents received capital assistance from 2019 to 2025, while 89 percent of monitored businesses remained active.
The city also supports micro-entrepreneurs through other livelihood programs, grocery assistance for qualified solo parents, and trade fairs to help businesses reach more customers.
