Residents of Candaba, Pampanga have asked the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to probe alleged irregularities involving P1.4 billion in flood control projects in the town.
A group of 14 residents filed the complaint over contracts awarded to Sto. Cristo Construction & Trading and Globalcrete Builders Inc., which reportedly received a combined P5.4 billion in government projects from 2022 to 2025.
The complainants also want the NBI to investigate an alleged P753.3-million transfer from Sto. Cristo to Globalcrete and examine the companies’ ownership and links to local officials.
They alleged that Globalcrete was registered under the name of Candaba Mayor Rene Maglanque and that MBB Global Properties Corp. was linked to his daughter and the children of former DPWH officials.
The residents also asked authorities to determine whether the transactions were legitimate and identify any possible liability.
