With just over a month until the May 12 midterm elections, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Commission on Elections (Comelec), and the Philippine National Police (PNP) have intensified their efforts to ensure a secure and credible election.
The three agencies formalized their partnership by signing a memorandum of agreement at the Comelec headquarters in Manila.
The agreement aims to ensure that the elections are conducted in a free, orderly, and peaceful manner, with AFP reaffirming its non-partisan approach and readiness for its election duties.
Comelec also allocated funds to support AFP and PNP operations, with a strict liquidation process in place.
As part of election preparations, Comelec has started distributing ballots and deploying automated counting machines, with additional measures to ensure a smooth election process.
