President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. called for continued support for the development of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) during its 7th Founding Anniversary in Cotabato City.
He highlighted the progress made in the region while emphasizing that more work is needed to promote peace, economic opportunities, and improved living standards.
Marcos assured the people of BARMM that the national government will support inclusive development and lasting peace.
He also encouraged residents to participate in the upcoming first Bangsamoro parliamentary elections on March 30 to ensure their voices are heard.
Established in 2019 under the Bangsamoro Organic Law, BARMM replaced the former ARMM with a new autonomous regional government and parliamentary system, expanding self-governance powers.
