President Marcos pledged to continue acquiring vessels, aircraft, and other equipment to strengthen the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) during its 124th founding anniversary in Manila.
He praised the PCG for its steadfast service amid growing maritime challenges and called it an example of what “the best of government can look like.”
Marcos said the administration will also invest in training, facilities, logistics, and communication systems to support PCG personnel.
New projects include the PCG General Hospital, the Maritime Law Enforcement Training Center in Misibis, and the First Responder and Nursing Service Facility.
He also lauded the PCG’s rapid response to the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Cebu on September 30.
