President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed former budget official Kim Robert de Leon as the new Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Malacañang announced Monday.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro described de Leon as a career public servant recognized for expertise in fiscal management, reform, and digital transformation, adding that he is the youngest member of the Marcos Cabinet at 35 years old.
De Leon is a magna cum laude graduate of UP Diliman and a former DBM undersecretary who also served in the Department of Transportation and academia.
He will replace Rolando Toledo, who is moving to the Government Service Insurance System board, while Toledo reaffirmed his continued public service commitment.
Malacañang also clarified that Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla will remain in his post despite circulating rumors of an impending replacement.
