JI CHANG-WOOK BLENDS KOREAN CHARM WITH FILIPINO FLAVORS IN ‘KUMUSTA’

Ji Chang-wook took on a waiter role instead of cooking in the variety series “Kumusta” due to his lack of culinary skills, despite being known as a popular K-drama actor.

The show, which airs on TV5 and streams on Viu, features a Filipino restaurant pop-up in Seoul’s Gangnam District led by Chef JP Anglo, showcasing dishes such as sinigang, sisig, kare-kare, and halo-halo.

Ji said he found it interesting to introduce Filipino cuisine to Korean audiences and expressed appreciation for being part of the project.

He also reflected that his past part-time work experience helped him adapt and collaborate with the cast, including Filipino actors like Jodi Sta. Maria and Janella Salvador.

The actor noted that despite cultural differences, food served as a shared experience that connected everyone involved in the production.
