Senator Sherwin Gatchalian has urged the Department of Health (DOH) to quickly contain the spread of contagious diseases among POGO workers detained in a government facility managed by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC).
He called for immediate containment measures, quarantine protocols, and proper healthcare to prevent further infections.
Gatchalian also emphasized the need to find alternative detention facilities to ensure humane treatment and effective disease control.
Despite the health concerns, he stressed that the outbreak should not delay ongoing anti-POGO operations, urging the immediate deportation of cleared detainees.
The senator highlighted the importance of continuing the crackdown on illegal POGOs linked to crimes like human trafficking and cyber fraud.
