Former Ilocos Sur governor Luis ‘Chavit’ Singson was arrested in Quezon City on Thursday over a cyberlibel charge.
Police said the arrest was carried out at his residence based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court in Vigan City.
Singson was temporarily placed under police custody for documentation and processing.
He later posted ₱60,000 bail and was released on the same day.
Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding the cyberlibel case.
