The Department of the Interior and Local Government and Department of Education are expected to formalize an agreement on deploying “visible patrols” inside public schools following a series of shooting incidents.
The proposed security personnel may include barangay tanods, particularly women, and the memorandum of agreement is expected to be released next week.
The Palace said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has been briefed on the recent school shooting and directed authorities to take immediate action.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development is also providing parenting services and trauma-informed care to help families and school personnel address concerning behavior among students.
