Mamamayang Liberal Party-list Rep. Leila de Lima has apologized to the Supreme Court (SC) for calling its ruling on Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment case “ex parte” or one-sided.
De Lima admitted her earlier claim that the House of Representatives was not given a chance to comment was based on incorrect information after she read the full decision.
She acknowledged that the SC did consider the House’s comments and took full responsibility for her mistake.
The SC had ruled the impeachment articles unconstitutional, stating the Senate lacked jurisdiction over the case.
De Lima’s apology came after she initially criticized the SC for allegedly bypassing due process in the decision.
