The Commission on Elections is set to release its decision on Sen. Rodante Marcoleta’s statement of contributions and expenditures (SOCE) this Wednesday, Comelec Chairman George Garcia said.
The poll body is finalizing its ruling after requiring each commissioner to submit their positions on the case.
The investigation was launched motu proprio following alleged discrepancies between Marcoleta’s SOCE, which reported P139.9 million in campaign spending, and his P51.9 million net worth declared in his SALN.
The Comelec is also reviewing a related complaint referred by the Office of the Ombudsman, which questions both his SOCE and SALN.
The commission is examining how the issues raised in the separate complaint affect its ongoing probe.
