The Senate has officially recognized the P-pop group BINI after approving Senate Resolution No. 370, citing their historic performance at the Coachella music festival in April 2026.
During the plenary session, Sen. Paolo “Bam” Aquino IV highlighted that BINI became the first Filipino group to perform at one of the world’s largest and most prestigious music festivals, calling it a reflection of Filipino talent on the global stage.
He noted that their performance showcased national pride through the integration of traditional elements, including Filipino-inspired visuals, costumes, and the use of native languages during their introduction.
Lawmakers also praised BINI’s 10-song set featuring hits like “Pantropiko,” “Salamin-Salamin,” and “Karera,” emphasizing the group’s fusion of modern and traditional artistry.
The resolution underscored the Senate’s recognition of Filipino artists who bring pride to the country internationally while supporting the growth of the creative industry as a driver of innovation and economic development.
