Cybercrime cases in Quezon City dropped by nearly 34 percent in August, according to police reports.
Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, director of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), revealed that 105 cybercrime incidents were recorded last month, a significant decrease from 159 in July.
The QCPD also achieved a resolution rate of 92.38 percent for August, slightly up from 91.82 percent the previous month.
Maranan commended the anti-cybercrime team for their effective handling of various online offenses, including scams and fraud.
Overall crime in the city also fell by 21.48 percent, from 1,350 to 1,060 incidents.
