University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons star Casiey Dongallo will miss the remainder of UAAP Season 88 after suffering ACL and meniscus tears in her left knee during a match against Far Eastern University.
The 20-year-old will undergo surgery and rehabilitation, but she remains eligible to play in Season 89.
Head coach Fabio Menta praised Dongallo’s positive attitude despite the injury, noting she continues to attend training and stay optimistic about recovery.
With Dongallo sidelined, teammates Jelai Gajero, Joan Monares, and Irah Jaboneta will need to step up to maintain the team’s performance.
UP currently holds a 3-3 win-loss record and will face Adamson to close out the first round, aiming to end a decade-long playoff drought.
