More than 100 members of the House of Representatives have joined a relief drive led by Faustino Dy III to assist families affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Mindanao.
Lawmakers have pledged donations and other forms of assistance, with some contributing personal resources to support recovery efforts.
A congressional delegation led by Dy visited affected areas in General Santos City and Sarangani to assess damage and coordinate aid with local officials.
The House also committed to covering the medical expenses of earthquake victims regardless of whether they are treated in public or private hospitals.
Lawmakers said the relief initiative demonstrates the House’s commitment to both its legislative responsibilities and humanitarian duties.
