The Marikina City government announced it will use local funds to complete the Concepcion Dos Super Health Center after the Department of Health (DOH) flagged it as unfinished and non-operational.
DOH Secretary Teodoro Herbosa’s recent inspection revealed that only Phase 1 of the four-story facility—a steel foundation—has been completed since 2023.
Marikina Mayor Maan Teodoro explained that the DOH only released funds for the first phase, totaling P21 million, while additional funding for the remaining construction phases has yet to be released despite repeated requests.
To address the delay and ensure continuous healthcare services, the city will allocate P200 million from its 2026 budget to finish the project.
The completed health center will offer basic services and include an autism center for people with special needs.
