Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo “Ping” Lacson accused some parties of exploiting Cavite Rep. Kiko Barzaga to push a political agenda amid the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s probe into flood control project controversies.
Lacson expressed sympathy for Barzaga’s mother, Dasmariñas City Mayor Jenny Barzaga, saying she is burdened with serving her constituents while dealing with these issues.
He noted that Kiko Barzaga posted a month-old photo of Lacson with the Discaya couple, which Lacson said was taken during a campaign period and not related to the current investigation.
Lacson insisted he was unaware of the Discayas before the photo was taken and denied any wrongdoing.
He believes the photo was posted to discredit the Senate’s ongoing investigation.
