Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson challenged Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon to explain why a Taguig infrastructure project should not be flagged as a “ghost” project after geotagged photos reportedly showed coordinates outside the project’s verified limits.
Lacson cited DPWH findings showing that the metadata of one project contract contained coordinates located about 600 kilometers away in Leyte.
The senator also said the project was contracted by St. Timothy Construction Corp., owned by contractor couple Curlee and Sarah Discaya, who face charges linked to alleged flood-control project irregularities.
Dizon earlier said DPWH’s investigation found no ghost projects among the 107 projects recorded in Taguig, all of which reportedly had accomplishments.
Lacson, however, maintained that DPWH records previously turned over to his office included allegedly non-existent slope protection projects reported as completed in the city.
