Senator Imee Marcos urged President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to immediately release the ₱1.3 trillion in government funds tagged as “For Later Release” (FLR) under the 2025 budget to avoid delays in public projects.
She emphasized that performance reviews and audits of government programs should happen alongside the timely release of these funds, especially for ongoing projects.
Marcos expressed support for the President’s call to strengthen audits and crack down on unfinished or ghost projects.
The FLR funds cover various sectors, including agriculture, education, health, and public works, and are not limited to infrastructure.
She stressed that government agencies must ensure proper documentation and the legitimacy of all projects to prevent misuse of funds.
