FUENTEBELLA DEFENDS HOUSE OVER FMR PROJECT ERRORS, SAYS ISSUE OVERBLOWN

Rep. Arnie Fuentebella defended House members over alleged irregularities in farm-to-market road (FMR) projects, saying only eight of the 1,669 projects had incorrect coordinates.

He said the errors were a small percentage and urged the Department of Agriculture (DA) to improve its geotagging and validation procedures.

DA officials confirmed that the eight projects were already included in the proposed 2027 national budget and that the errors would be corrected.

Meanwhile, the Senate removed P8.8 billion worth of proposed infrastructure projects after 295 items were found lacking required technical documents.

Public Works Secretary Giovanni Lopez said the department would continue enforcing strict documentation requirements to prevent ghost projects.
