Malacañang said young Filipinos should not be discouraged from seeking career opportunities abroad, stressing that overseas employment can benefit their families and the Philippine economy.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the government is strengthening upskilling and reskilling programs to make Filipino workers globally competitive.
President Marcos has directed CHED, TESDA and DepEd to equip young people with skills that match workplace demands.
Castro attributed the projected 10-percent GDP loss to job mismatches and said the government is working to attract more investments and create suitable local jobs.
She added that while the government aims to expand employment opportunities in the country, Filipinos should remain free to pursue better opportunities overseas.
