The Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested Yang Jianxin, the older brother of former presidential economic adviser Michael Yang, at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Thursday.
Yang, 54, was detained by the BI’s fugitive search unit and intelligence division upon arriving from Cagayan de Oro.
He is facing a deportation case for being undesirable and misrepresenting himself as a Filipino, as well as falsifying information related to the Securities and Exchange Commission certification of his company, Phil Sanjia Corporation.
Complaints from Filipino employees regarding his failure to remit their Social Security System, PagIBIG, and PhilHealth contributions have also been filed against him.
Yang has been turned over to the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), which will investigate the complaints, and deportation proceedings will commence only after resolving all pending cases in the Philippines.
